La Belle Epoque

With our new CD coming out, I wanted to do something new and fresh with the artwork to set us apart from the rest. I thought of a cool, retro French poster style idea for our latest promo. La Belle Epoque is French for “The Beautiful Era”, which is exactly how I want to describe what we wanna bring to local music.

Watch The Stage!

This was sort of a defining moment for our music and for myself from a marketing standpoint. We were able to put together probably the best bill the city had seen from a music group who has no radio presence and a very small and specific following. We had come off three very successful shows at a smaller venue that were close to a capacity crowd. But the Watch The Stage show had us at the best live venue in town. And we performed for a little more than 200 people. And I’d like to add that I did design the flyer as well.

I had done several videos to promote our live shows. And the more I did, the more creative and silly I wanted to be. A very talented artist out of Austin named Zeale, agreed to participate in the Watch The Stage show and I wanted to mock Austin’s weird reputation while at the same time mocking San Antonio’s reputation of being jealous of Austin. First Team was asked by the owners of Cabo Seafood to host a Halloween event. It was my first involvement with the owners of the restaurant. They were fairly new and they were familiar with our following. We called the event The Scary Sexy Soiree. I put together a “movie trailer” to help promote the event. The idea was to put the trailer out without a whole lot of information to create a buzz. And that’s exactly what happened.

We also followed the original trailer with several shorter promos that had more of a humorous element.
